Girls’ Football Success for Christian Brothers – Fri 29 Mar 2013

The Christian Brothers’ Primary School are celebrating after their girls’ team won the McMullen & O’Donnell Cup in a recent tournament organised by St. Jarlath’s Primary School and An Port Mór G.F.C. The C.B.S. girls were competing with other schools from counties Tyrone and Armagh in 7 a-side matches held in Blackwatertown.
A delighted captain, Tierna McVeigh, was presented with the cup by Brendan Nugent from An Port Mór’s Ulster Junior Winning team. It was a fantastic day of football and immense praise must go to Ciaran McKenna from St. Jarlath’s Blackwatertown and An Port Mor G.F.C. for the organising of this excellent event.
Christian Brothers’ Participate in Ulster Rugby Blitzes.

The primary seven pupils from the Christian Brothers’ Primary School, who have been receiving rugby coaching from Armagh Rugby’s Mark Riddell, where delighted recently when they participated in a rugby blitz organised by Armagh Rugby. At the blitz the C.B.S. pupils met Ulster stars, Paddy McAllister and Sean Doyle.
Following their performances at the Armagh Blitz the Greenpark pupils were asked to take part in Ulster Rugby’s Festival of Rugby. The Christian Brothers’ pupils acquitted themselves brilliantly at the tournament. The highlight of the day was the opportunity for the team to meet Irish International, Luke Marshall, who had recently played in the Six Nations game against Italy.
The C.B.S. pupils thoroughly enjoyed both blitzes and would like to thank Armagh Rugby and in particular Mark Riddell, who has been coaching in the school over the last few months.
