Two new primary schools  opened on the 1st September 2013. 

John Paul II is an amalgamation of St Aidan’s PS and St Bernadette’s PS in Ballymurphy.

St Patrick’s is an amalgamation of Edmund Rice PS (Pim St)

and Star of the Sea PS (Churchill St).

MASS OF CELEBRATION – EDMUND RICE PS, PIM ST

Mass was celebrated on Friday, 21st June in the Church of St Patrick 
to acknowledge the people and work of Edmund Rice Primary School since its opening in 1967.
Fr Timothy Bartlett, (a past pupil of Edmund Rice Primary, Edmund Rice College and St Mary’s CBGS) was the main celebrant.
All the school pupils and present staff attended,
as did a number of governors, parents, former staff, past pupils, Christian Brothers and Trustees.
A buffet and a photographic exhibition was provided in the school after the Mass.
This gave all present an opportunity to reminisce and to meet with former associates of St Aidan’s.

The school closed on Tuesday, 25th June 2013 
and is replaced by St Patrick’s Primary.

MASS OF CELEBRATION – ST AIDAN’S PS

Mass was celebrated on Friday, 14th June in the Church of Corpus Christi 
to acknowledge the people and work of St Aidan’s Primary School since its opening.
Fr Darach Mac Giolla Catháin PP was the main celebrant.
His co-celebrants were Fr Paul Alexander (former School Chaplain and past pupil of St Mary’s)) and Fr Tony Devlin (former School Chaplain).
All the school pupils and present staff attended,
as did a number of governors, parents, former staff, past pupils, Christian Brothers, Trustees and CCMS advisers.
Refreshments and a photographic exhibition was provided in the school after the Mass.
This gave all present an opportunity to reminisce and to meet with former associates of St Aidan’s.
