John Paul ll pupils with their shoeboxes

This year, the children of John Paul ll Primary School took part in Road of Hope’s ‘Shoebox Appeal’. ‘Road of Hope’ sends
help and relief to ease suffering to communities in countries around the world.

Each class in John Paul ll Primary School set out to fill some shoeboxes with little Christmas gifts for a needy child in another country.
The children were amazed to see just how many different gifts they could fit into one small shoebox; from soap and toothpaste,
to hats, gloves and scarves, to colouring books and sweets, and of course that vital small, soft toy to cuddle.
Lots of parents hearing from their children what they were doing in school, decided to join in by filling a family shoebox at home.
The children sent off their many shoeboxes with love, anticipating the excitement and smiles on the faces of their new friends in a far off country,
as they opened up their Christmas gift boxes.
