EDMUND RICE AWARDS (PRIMARY SCHOOLS)

The Awards were held on the 2nd February 2018
in Christian Brothers Primary / Bunscoil na mBráithre,  Armagh.

The theme this year was “Homelessness”.

Each school gave a presentation outlining their work in this and related areas.

The participating schools were John Paul II PS (Belfast), St Patrick’s PS (Belfast),
St Clare’s Abbey PS (Newry)  and,
the host school, Christian Brothers Primary,
Armagh / Bunscoil Ard Mhacha.

The theme this year was  “Homelessness” , “Daoine gan Dídean”.
The ceremony began with a most challenging reflection by the host school.
Through word, song, acting, dance and pictures, the stark reality of the plight of the homeless and our need to respond was brilliantly presented.

Each school then gave a presentation outlining their work in this, and related, areas.

Homelessness has been highlighted in the schools this year and teachers and pupils have participated in a number of activities and events. They have been ably encouraged and motivated by Mr Tom Murray (Edmund Rice England) and Mr Cormac McArt (Westcourt Centre, Belfast).

Mrs Geraldine McLaverty (Edmund Rice Schools Trust) congratulated all staff and pupils and awarded trophies to the individual schools. Well done to all the boys, girls and teachers and support staff.
