SAMSUNGAn Br Tom Beausang (Wee Beau) RIP: Former Principal and Teacher. A Cork man. Rinne sé an-obair go deo leis an Ghaeilge  a chur chun cinn i gCúige Uladh.  Began teaching in the North in Newry and returned there in retirement. Buried in the cemetery in Newry.

Br Maurice Finn:  Now, 2020,
 an 84 year old religious, retired from teaching after 56 years, still interested in creating happy harmonious relationships in school, caring for older Brothers in need of assistance, counselling people who ask for my help, writing mainly religious articles.
Went to India 1964. Has been involved in education in high schools, villages, with orphans and street children, in vernacular education and informal adult education.

Connolly, James Joseph (Mr): To St Mary’s, Barrack St until 1935.
Fitzsimons, James Alphonses:  He worked as an aviation engineer for the naval yard.

Linden, Paddy (Mr): 1933- 1941. Lived in the Markets. Left school at 13. Was an apprentice with a blacksmith. Became a merchant seaman at 18 years old.

Monaghan, Robert (Mr):  I was there from about 1959 to 1965.

Phoenix, Éamon (Dr): Historian, Senior Lecturer, Writer. Transferred to St Mary’s CBGS, Barrack St.
Charles (Charlie) Smyth (Mr): Went on to St Mary’s, CBGS, Barrack Street. Civil Servant, Scientific Officer, Veterinary Research Laboratory.
Timoney, Michael (Mr): Madrid Street. Left 1965.


Patrick McCabe: I was there until 1966 and Brother Beausang was the head. The only other brother was Br Canton.  The rest were civilians, Clark, Shiels and Bradley. I think it closed around 70.
